Wear whatever you can move around in freely that makes you feel sassy and inspired. It should also be something you won't mind getting a bit sweaty. For some people that means fishnets and a cute camisole. For others that means yoga pants and an old camp t-shirt. Generally, the people who wear something flirty tend to get more out of the workshops. Heels are an asset, but not mandatory. Above all, dress so that you feel comfortable. At the end of every class description, I indicate any specialty items that you should try to bring -- if you have them. If you don't, we can usually work around it.
NO. It's entirely up to you to decide what you want to do when. You can always pantomine the removal of a layer that you don't have or don't want to take off. And in any time we do approach striptease elements, we've got nice low lighting and privacy curtains to make even the shyest person comfortable. It's always a laid-back giggly group.
Burlesque is very embracing of all body types. So many local performers have dangerous curves and the gusto to match. It doesn't matter what size you are; it's all about living with verve and taking a bold step to try something new!
NO. Each workshop goes step by step so it's easy for anyone to follow along. Everyone comes away saucier and so will you!
YES! You should always bring your cheekiest girlfriends. Pre-registration is generally preferred so I can get a sense of how many practice props to bring. But drop-ins are definately welcome.
NO. Each workshop will show you techniques you can put into your bag of tricks whether you're already a performer, thinking of becoming one, or if you have a special someone at home you'd like to wow. You can drop in and out at any time. Easy, breezy.

Coco Framboise is the creative mind behind BOOM Chika BOOM burlesque classes, blending Broadway jazz, burlesque, and go go. Over the past four years, this breakthrough program has evolved to become Toronto's most extensive burlesque curriculum. Coco has appeared as a special guest instructor on numerous TV shows including "The List," "Three Takes," "Matchmaker," and "The Mom Show." Her success as a teacher has drawn private students from as far away as Owen Sound and Saskatoon. Her classes have also been the focus of an article for ELLE Canada entitled, Burlesque Dancing 101. Coco is delighted to be the feature of two recent articles in the National Post; Belle of the Burlesque and Ready, Set, Strut!
The Coco Framboise Show is known for its stunning luxury acts and large signature props. Some of Coco's favourite numbers are "The Apple of My Eye" atop a giant sparkly candy apple, as well as "The Crystal Fantasy" featuring the city's largest white ostrich boa fans and Coco in her dainty rhinestone bikini. "Ring-a-Ding-Ding" is her latest extravagance that includes a giant vintage telephone and address book – recently debuted in London, UK!
To her headlining shows, she has added Coco's Bonbons, a saucy foursome of support dancers performing choreography inspired by the soundstage musicals of Hollywood's Golden Age. The Coco Framboise Show blends vintage Hollywood spectacle with a tempting modern flavour. Sumptuous, seductive, and always surprising, Coco and her Bonbons will whet your appetite.
Coco's live performances have titillated local audiences at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Toronto Burlesque Festival, Toronto Fashion Week, Luminato, the Palais Royale Ballroom, the Drake Hotel, the Gladstone Hotel, the Mod Club, Revival, Jezebel, and more. Further afield she has performed at the Fallsview Hotel and Casino in Niagara, as well as on stages in Stratford, Vancouver, Montreal and Los Angles. In April 2009 she was tickled to be the only Canadian showgirl invited to strut her stuff at the Jetsetters Ball as part of the London Burlesque Festival in the UK!
In addition to performing at the Toronto Burlesque Festival, coming up July 23rd-26th 2009, Coco is proud to be the headmistress of the Toronto Burlesque University featuring international star faculty! Details to be announced soon. You can also catch Coco's performances and workshops at the Montreal Burlesque Festival, September 18th-20th!

"Everyone loved the lesson. Some were skeptical and trepidatious before we went...I think they thought it was scandalous. They all left feeling empowered. A great thing for a woman, so thank you for that. It made the evening and everyone left feeling great about themselves." -Tania
"Thank you very much for the glove and stocking lessons for my cousin's bachelorette party last Saturday. Everyone was very excited about the party! We all had a great time and I thought that you did a wonderful job. Thanks again." - Kim
